Terms and Conditions
Confidentiality
I understand and respect the need for privacy when discussing sensitive matters, however one of our main concerns is ensuring the safety of our clients. Therefore in the rare circumstance that I am concerned that either you are harming yourself, harming someone else or are at risk of being harmed by others, I will need to share my concerns with the most appropriate person. Whenever possible, this will be discussed with you first.
I follow the BPS code of ethics, I am registered with the HCPC as a Counselling Psychologist, and receive supervision for my practice. All data and records are held confidentially and in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act 1998.
I keep a record of our sessions, and this is to ensure that I am able to offer a safe service. This information is kept on a secure and encrypted hard drive, in accordance with GDPR and the ICO. I hold this information for 7 years after our last contact, as is normal practice. Please do not hesitate to ask me if you would like to know more about this or any of my terms and conditions.
Cancellation Policy
I understand that sometimes things do not always go as planned and it may result in your needing to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If you are unable to make your scheduled appointment I ask that you provide me with at least 48 hours notice. Otherwise a 50% cancellation session fee will apply. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice or if no notice is received, will be charged at the full amount.
If your sessions are being funded by insurance, you are responsible for the payment of missed sessions.
Fees
I will send an invoice prior to each session. Once the fees have been paid, I will send through a link for the session.
All additional liaison and professionals meetings will be charged at my hourly rate – e.g. a 30 minute telephone call will be charged at £70.
Insurance
I am currently registered with Axa, Vitality, Cigna and Aviva. I will send through a zoom link for the first session once I have received the policy number and confirmation that the sessions of have been approved by the insurer.
I hold my own professional indemnity insurance.
Social Media
I can be found on Instagram, and I am aware that this may be slightly different from other therapists that you have worked with in the past. If you do follow me, you are free to unfollow me at any time. There is no obligation to like or comment on my posts. I recommend that you look at the disclaimer in my highlights for more information.
I ask that you don’t contact me via DM, and instead email me, and I will respond in due course.
I don’t follow clients on social media. It’s your space, and it would be an intrusion for me to do so.
