My qualifications and experience
My name is Dr Chloe Bedford, and I’m an HCPC Registered Counselling Psychologist.
For more than 15 years, I have worked with adults, children, teenagers and their families across the NHS and private practice. Much of my career has been spent helping young people and parents make sense of situations that feel frightening, overwhelming or impossible to change.
I have particular experience in eating disorders and disordered eating, anxiety, specific phobias, low mood and depression, self-harm, low self-esteem and trauma.
That experience matters.
But I also know that a list of qualifications doesn’t tell you whether you, or your child, will feel comfortable talking to me.
My approach is warm, curious and collaborative. I’m not here to judge your family, squeeze someone into a particular model of therapy or hand over a list of “tools” and expect everything to be fixed. I want to understand the person sitting in front of me, what has happened to them and what they might need next.
I offer individual therapy for children and teenagers, alongside support for parents. I also work with some adults when their needs fit with my areas of experience, and provide professional consultation and supervision to other therapists.
I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and am a member of the British Psychological Society.
I believe wholeheartedly that if you, or someone you love, might benefit from therapy, then that is a good enough reason to go to therapy.
